Here is the short version. Publer is a social media scheduler. ClipFarmer makes the clips you would schedule. If you searched "Publer alternative" because you want a posting calendar across a dozen networks, Publer is genuinely the better tool and you should stay with it (or a true scheduler). If you searched it because you stream on Twitch, Kick or YouTube and you are tired of hunting through VODs for the good moments, that is the gap ClipFarmer fills. The two work fine side by side: ClipFarmer cuts the vertical clip, Publer queues it everywhere.
What each tool actually does
Publer connects to 12 or so networks (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business, Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky, Telegram) and lets you schedule, bulk-upload, recycle, analyze and approve posts. You give it finished content. It does not make the content for you beyond AI captions and AI images on the top tier. There is no video clipper inside it.
ClipFarmer watches your live stream in real time. When chat goes off (messages per second spike), it records that moment automatically at up to 1080p60 on paid tiers. Then it turns that 16:9 clip into a 9:16 reel: blurred background, split-screen over gameplay footage like Minecraft or Subway Surfers, or a facecam layout. It burns in word-level captions (Hormozi, karaoke, MrBeast and other templates) and can prepend a hook video, mix in music and stamp a CTA on the outro. So the input is a live stream, not a video you upload.
Where Publer is the better choice
I am not going to pretend otherwise. If your day is planning posts, Publer wins clearly. It has a drag-and-drop content calendar, bulk CSV scheduling up to 500 posts, RSS auto-posting, post recycling, a link-in-bio tool, and approval workflows for clients. It posts to far more networks than ClipFarmer publishes to. Its analytics (audience numbers, best-time-to-post, competitor comparison) live on the Business plan and have no equivalent in ClipFarmer at all. ClipFarmer has none of that. It schedules monitoring windows, not posts.
One honest caveat on Publer: the features people most want (AI captions, analytics, hashtag suggestions, recycling) are gated to the Business tier, and pricing scales with the number of connected accounts and team seats. It is cheap to start and gets more expensive as you add brands.
Where ClipFarmer is the better choice
If you are a streamer, the math is simple. Publer cannot create a single clip. ClipFarmer's whole job is finding the highlight and cutting it. The live hype detection means you do not have to babysit your own VOD or hire an editor to scrub four hours of footage. Every clip comes with a Hype Score and the reason it triggered, so you can see what chat reacted to. The reel conversion, gameplay backdrops and burned-in captions are the parts a scheduler will never give you.
ClipFarmer also publishes the finished reel directly to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts over OAuth. It is three networks, not twelve, and there is no calendar view. For a lot of streamers those three are the only ones that matter for short-form, so it is enough. If you need the wider net and a real calendar, that is the case for using both.
Be honest about ClipFarmer's limits
ClipFarmer is not a manual video editor. There is no timeline, no keyframes, no frame-by-frame trimming like Capcut or Descript. The per-clip studio is crop, anchor and facecam framing, nothing more. It also will not clip an arbitrary uploaded video or a random YouTube URL the way Opus Clip does; its input is a live stream it monitors. And it is not a social management suite: no unified inbox, no DM management, no cross-network analytics dashboard. If those are what you need, Publer (or a Buffer or Hootsuite) is the right answer.
The usual setup
Plenty of creators run both. ClipFarmer auto-captures and converts the clips while you stream, then either publishes them straight to TikTok, Reels and Shorts itself, or you pull them into Publer to schedule alongside the rest of your content across every network. ClipFarmer is the production line. Publer is the distribution desk.
